nutkhut welcomes its first General Manager, Karen Poley. From 1996-2007, Karen worked as a Project Producer for Zap Art, where she created and developed over 100 small scale street art events across the UK, and produced large scale European co-commissions with varying community dynamics, including The Lazy Kings by Transe Express; Souterrain by WILDWORKS and PlayRec by KompleXKapharnaüM. She also established the UK’s first temporary Creation Centre in 2005, dedicated to street arts in Brighton’s disused Municipal Market. Alongside this Karen project managed The Palm House by Small Wonder in 2005, and created and produced Bicycle Ballet, in 2006/7 , a large scale dance spectacular on bicycles performed by over 60 members of the public.
